Tony Oram Associates will develop and deliver a wide range of courses tailored to meet your particular organisational learning needs. Our philosophy is based on the notion that people already know a great deal about a lot of things. They bring with them knowledge and wisdom to the courses they attend and this means that we can co-create a rich learning environment.
Once a focus for the course has been identified, our approach is to start with looking at what you can already harness from what you already know to tackle any issue or develop a particular set of skills that you feel you need. If we identify any genuine gaps in either knowledge or experience, we will work with you to co-design a course that helps you to fill these gaps in the most impactful and beneficial way possible.
Our training courses are built on the foundations of Transactional Analysis, or TA as it is more frequently called. TA was developed in the 1950s by Canadian Eric Berne. It is a powerful, wide-ranging yet simple theory of how people develop, grow, change and communicate, and how their experiences and beliefs shape them as people. At its core, there is a philosophy of mutual respect, self-respect and the acceptance of others. Central also is a belief in everyone’s ability to learn and their potential for change.
Tony Oram Associates makes extensive use of TACTICS, a TA theory-to-practice toolbox developed by two of the most respected TA practitioners in the organisation and education fields, Rosemary Napper and Trudi Newton. It contains lots of useful TA theories, tools, tips and learning exercises to help people explore issues as part of their learning journey. Tony Oram Associates blends this with its own brand of action-learning philosophy to create a refreshing and vibrant approach to organisational learning.

We title all our courses “Learn about Together”, and there are many options available to you. Look at the list of topics on the “Consultancy” page of the site for an idea of what can be covered. For example, you may want to “Learn about Commissioning Together” or “Learn about Strategy Preparation Together”, and so on.
Course content, design and delivery is also subject to a very strong contractual agreement between Tony Oram Associates and the recipients of the learning course – both commissioning organisation and individual participants. In addition, learning facilitators at Tony Oram Associates are required to undergo supervision support for the courses that they design and deliver with an independent supervisor, to make sure that the courses and learning provided is enriching, effective and high quality.
